BGWHole 2024-2025 Ambassador Application

Hello,

Thank you so much for applying for our scholarship! We want to know about YOU. Black, Gifted & Whole's mission is to Empower, Educate and Mobilize Black Queer men by acknowledging, celebrating and affirming their whole selves.

From undergrad to post-grad opportunities, BGWhole is committed to helping Black Queer men in higher education accomplish their academic goals. In order to help in that process, we are offering four (4) $4,000 scholarships; the scholarships will be dispersed twice throughout the school year.

Please note the scholarship is non-renewable. However, in addition to financial support, recipients will have access to (1) the growing network of previous BGWHole Ambassadors and (2) a robust mentorship program, led by Dr. Deion Hawkins.

Before applying, please ensure you meet the criteria to be eligible listed below:

-18 years or older
-Accepted or currently enrolled at a Historically Black College and/or University
-A Black Queer man
-3.0 GPA

We all make mistakes, however, reflecting is key. In 250 words or less, using the STAR (situation, task, action, result) method, please explain a mistake you've made in the past year and explain what lesson was learned as a result.

Often, we are taught being Black & Queer is a flaw and/or something that has to be fixed. However, at BGWhole, we believe the opposite-we affirm and uplift Black Queer men. In your own words (250 max), explain what the phrase "Black, Gifted, & Whole" means to you?
